What do you charge for one federal and one state return?
Our base price for a federal and one state return is $250. Extra fees will apply for additional forms—please call for an estimate.
Can I drop my taxes off after regular business hours?
Unfortunately, we do not have a drop-off service available at this time.
How do I file an extension?
Fill out our information sheet and drop off your tax documents. A small fee may be charged at that time.
When is the regular season tax deadline?
Tax day is April 15th.
What are the benefits of filing an extension?
It allows you more time; however, it only saves you from a late filing fee from the government.
When is the deadline for extensions?
October 15th.
Why do I need to bring address verification for dependents?
It is required by the IRS. We must do our due diligence for every return or we can face a fine if audited.
Do we file S-corps, partnerships or C-corps?
We do not.
Do you do farms, business, rental tax forms?
We do sole proprietor business forms. Call for a consultation appointment for farms, and personal residential rental businesses. Call for estimates.
Are you a CPA and or do you do bookkeeping?
We are not CPAs; we are tax preparers who specialize in personal tax returns. We also do not do bookkeeping but can refer you to one if needed.
Do you have a notary in the office?
Not at the moment but will have one soon.
Can you file states other than Missouri?
Yes, we can file most US states. Each additional state is an extra $25.

Amy Cook is an experienced Tax Preparer with a passion for helping the average person. She began in the field a decade ago with bookkeeping, payroll, account management and tax preparation. She completed multiple courses of study through the years on Tax Preparation and discovered a passion for it. She has committed herself to relevance by completing continuing education every year to stay informed on changes in the tax code. Experience showed her that she is very adept at working within the restraints of the tax code to maximize the amount of money returned to her clients.

Amy is currently the owner and operator of Taxes by Nightshade. She offers a wide range of services including Federal and state returns (electronically filed), Tax consultation, preparation for sole proprietor businesses, and personal returns. She enjoys the complexities of preparing multiple state returns and giving a personal touch to everyone through an in person interview to understand their unique situation.
